Warning to Our Youth!

As a matter of religious conviction and belief, Masjid As-Salaamah’s position towards extremist groups such as Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabaab, ISIS (ISIL), and other groups with similar religious ideologies has been very clear: that they are outcasts, deviants, and Takfiris who follow in the beliefs of the Khawaarij (renegades), an ancient sect that was known for murdering Muslims. Furthermore, we believe their violent acts, such as assassinations, kidnappings, hijackings, suicide bombings, violence against governments and civilians are both illegal and contrary to correct Islamic beliefs and teachings. A Takfiri (from the Arabic word تكفيري) is a Muslim who practices Takfir, which is accusing another Muslims of apostasy or disbelief.

AS-SALAAMAH

Let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.
